Pronouns: She/Her | Position: Pivot, Coach | Skating since: 2011 | Country: England, UK
I started skating with London Rockin’ Rollers in 2011. I couldn’t stop (in every sense!) and I was hooked.
I skated with LRR for 3 years under my derby name ‘Uma Thumpin’ and discovered my love for coaching as the head coach for our new skaters. After 6 months out for a broken ankle and a fetching metal plate, I moved up north where I fell in love with Sheffield Steel Roller Derby and was privileged enough to captain them through our British champs season. I finally found my true calling and transferred to Rainy City in 2017 where I had the toughest yet absolute best season, learning anything and everything as fast as I could.
Derby highlights so far:
- My whole season with Sheffield Steel Roller Derby, they all have hearts of steel.
- Winning the Euro Cup with Rainy in 2018
- Being the head coach for our B team, the Tender Hooligans in 2018.
- Skating in my first tournament outside of Europe (La Classique Georgia W. Tush in Montreal in 2018)
- Skating in my first WFTDA playoffs in A Coruña in 2018
- Driving through the peaks 3 times a week to get to training and only crashing once.
